I'm not woke.

I agree that systemic racism is pervasive in our society, that it's serious and real, and that it needs to be addressed.

However, I don't think it's the most important issue out there. Massive economic injustice -- unfairness -- is. (Environmental issues are also more important. But I'm going to offend enough people as-is, so I won't go there.)

Fix systemic racism and the poor remain poor. Even those most directly affected derive little benefit. Fix economic injustice and the world is fundamentally better for everyone.

You say that fixing racism and fixing economic inequality are not incompatible? I agree. But look at who made it seem like they are. Who made it seem like fixing racism is a zero-sum game? Who makes it impossible for Democrats to appeal to rural Americans?

Whose very first act was to sabotage Bernie Sanders?

By actions, if not by words, the woke crowd deprioritizes economic issues and promotes an unnecessarily confrontational and divisive agenda.

Ultimately, the woke crowd serves our economic masters. They're on the same side as the rest of the folks who want us all to stay poor and powerless.
